Bead Blasted Stainless Steel Finish

Bead blasted stainless steel has a fine matte surface texture without a continuous brushing direction. Compare references where a softer reflection is desired, and confirm the blasting medium, texture and colour for the proposed component.

Understanding Bead Blasted.

Matte appearance, surface texture, colour and any separate protective treatment.

Appearance & process

Bead Blasted uses propelled blasting media to texture the stainless-steel surface. The fine surface texture scatters reflection, producing a matte appearance without the directional lines of Hairline or Brushed. This family is also described as sandblasted. The exact blasting medium and surface appearance are confirmed with the chosen reference rather than inferred from a general category name.

Visual characteristics and advantages

The textured surface scatters reflections and offers a matte visual alternative to Mirror or directional Brushed finishes. It can help make the metal read as a quieter background to other materials. The level of reflection and texture still needs to be judged from the selected reference.

Selection considerations

Clarify whether the texture continues onto edges and returns. Bead blasting and sandblasting are related descriptions, but the terms alone do not establish identical media or surface results. Agree the selected appearance, material construction, handling protection and cleaning requirements.

Architectural applications

Discuss a blasted surface for decorative wall panels, entrance details, display components or furniture metalwork in hotel and commercial interiors. Identify the faces that will be viewed together and the areas that receive regular contact. Colour and any protective treatment should be considered alongside the matte appearance.

Fabrication considerations

Provide dimensions, edge details and the locations of exposed joins. Clarify whether a component is to receive a consistent texture on one face, multiple faces or returns. The fabrication sequence and surface finishing are reviewed together, including any cutting, bending or joining required. Confirm thickness for the actual part rather than adopting it from the appearance photograph.

Questions to help your selection

Is bead blasted stainless steel the same as sandblasted stainless steel?

The descriptions may overlap in a reference catalogue, but the blasting media and resulting texture can differ. Confirm the process and surface appearance for the selected reference.

Does a matte finish prevent fingerprints?

A matte appearance is not an anti-fingerprint performance specification. Discuss frequent-touch conditions and any separate protective treatment before confirming the finish.

Care & protection

Record the agreed cleaning and handling method for the blasted surface and any colour coating. Anti-fingerprint treatment can be discussed for the rose-gold construction; this is a separate project choice. Confirm the final appearance if such a treatment is included.

What to share with us

Send the selected reference code with a drawing, CAD file, rendering or reference image, approximate dimensions, quantity and intended environment. Mark the visible faces and explain how the component will be used. If you have a material grade, colour sample or cleaning requirement, include it. FABRITERA reviews the manufacturing details and confirms the agreed finish and colour reference for the proposed component.
